一般描述
Mannose is an aldohexose carbohydrate. It is isomer of glucose with varying C2 position configuration.[1] Majority of mannose is synthesised from its epimer glucose.[2] It is part of the glycans present in endoplasmic reticulum (ER)/Golgi.[2]

生化/生理作用
Mannose may be used to study the effects of exogenous mannose on in vitro processes such as glycosylation. cis-Golgi glycoproteins have high mannose and are prone to Endoglycosidase H or peptide N-glycosidase (N-glycanase) digestion.
